Job Title: Camp Accounting Coordinator

Purpose and Scope
The Camp Accounting Coordinator is responsible for assisting the camp and state treasurers in successfully managing ministry financial activity, including receiving, recording, receipting, and depositing funds. This position supports treasurers in remitting funds to International Headquarters and overseeing Scripture fund balances, general funds, and associated purchases. The Coordinator also supports the creation, review, and utilization of reports used by ministry leaders to effectively manage receipts, memberships, and Scripture placements.
Essential Job Functions
Assist Camp and State Treasurers
Review and evaluate remittance batch submissions, ensuring that related balances are accurate.
Complete data entry for camp remittances mailed to Headquarters.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting with phone calls, voice messages, e-mails, and mailed requests for support in camp banking activity and treasurer-related responsibilities.
Support camps needing assistance in scanning and uploading monthly bank statements.
Investigate camp remittance and other donation record issues such as inaccurate entries, refunds of overpayments and resolution of unsuccessful transactions, taking corrective action such as data updates, refunds, and transfers. Work closely with other functional teams to resolve any issues related to our camps and donors
Record correspondence and files details to provide information for future support efforts.
Assist camps with required paperwork needed to establish and/or maintain the camps’ bank account.
Research questions from camp and state officers regarding remitted donation reporting and transactions. Follow up in order to resolve any identified issues.
Equip new treasurer with training and assistance by reviewing and maintaining the accuracy of trainings, manuals, and tools. Included in these efforts is working directly with treasurers by providing assistance in learning and utilizing best practices.
Support Monthly Reports
Assist the Financial Reporting, Auditing and Compliance division with preparation of monthly ministry reports on Receipts, Memberships, and Scripture placements, reviewing for accuracy.
Answer questions from member leaders regarding ministry reports.
Help with Non-Cash Assets Donated to the Association
Asist in maintaining files, legal paperwork, and records on received non-cash assets.
Support the liquidation of non-cash assets, including working with members in proximity to donated real estate, attorneys engaged in related transaction, and third-party experts in assets such as real estate, oil and gas property rights.
Staff Devotions
Participate in daily morning staff devotions. Serve by praying and reading Scripture in support of devotion leaders on a rotating basis.

Reports To: Sr. Manager – Camp Accounting, Asset Management and Facilities
People Management Responsibility: None
Works Closely With: Director, Stewardship; Gideon members/camp and state treasurers, Donor Services team members, and the Financial Reporting, Auditing and Compliance division.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting or related fields or equivalent work experience preferred
Experience maintaining detailed records or databases preferably in a financial setting
Familiarity with The Gideons International camp activities preferred
Customer-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with at least intermediate level in Excel
Mature, responsible, driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Successful completion of a drug and background screen
