Job Title: Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist

Purpose and Scope
The Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist oversees the talent acquisition function as it relates to recruiting and staffing to establish and preserve our ministry as an “Employer of Choice.” Supports all levels inside and outside the organization with confidentiality. Identifies staffing and recruiting needs, finding creative solutions to fulfill those needs, while continuously improving the organization’s talent base and pipeline.
Impact of Results
The key results have an impact on the overall efficiency and success of each Department within The Gideons International. The key results will have a significant impact on the effectiveness for delivering service and support specifically as they relate to recruiting and hiring individuals that are called to serve in full-time Christian ministry. Results will ensure a coherent team, as measured by the annual Employee Engagement Survey conducted by Best Christian Workplaces.
Essential Job Functions
Oversees the employment process, including but not limited to, developing recruitment strategy, active recruitment, and on-boarding new hires.
Source and recruit viable candidates for open positions using industry best practices and strategies.
Support talent management by ensuring high potential employees are developed for next level opportunities and talent pipeline is maintained.
Posts open positions on available job boards and actively researches additional avenues to attract ministry-minded candidates.
Performs resume screening and initial phones screens to determine “fit.”
Ensures that the new hire onboarding and orientation processes are consistently completed.
Maintains detailed records of candidates and each interaction.
Recommends innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Assists Human Resources Generalist and HR Director with other functions, as necessary.
Ability to complete special projects or other duties as assigned.
Participates in daily morning staff devotions; on a rotating basis serves by praying and reading Scripture in support of devotion leader.

Preferred Educational and/or Work Experience
BA/BS Degree in Human Resources, Business or Public Administration or Behavioral Sciences
Experience in a support or administrative role
Knowledge of recruiting and interviewing techniques, state and federal regulations, company policies and fair employment practices is highly advantageous
Exceptional organizational, listening, communication and interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with deadline pressures and manage conflicting priorities
Successful completion of a drug and background screen
